I Pescatori Recreated aims to foster an integrated space for Orbetello residents, tourists, and immigrants moving into this town. By providing employment and learning opportunities through a land-based fish farming industry, we plan to involve the local community as they interact and learn about this industry.
This renewed fish farming industry is composed of housing units for emplottes, a trade school, commercial fish farming, packaging and transportation. We envision a flourishing environment for Orbetello's economy, as fish farming has significant potential for growth, both nationally and internationally.
The program within our project covers all aspects of fish farming. Starting with a living component (In the form of cooperative housing), a market open to the public, a trade school to educate the incoming workforce, and a commercial vertical fish farming system, that comes along with water treatment, packaging, and shipping.
